So many Americans just simply don't understand the Celts, their infighting and differences, the ancient arguments and battles, the pettiness, the co-mingled loyalties….
So this might be a helpful way of summary:
- The Scots keep the Covenant -- and everything else they can get their hands on.
- The Welsh pray on their knees -- and on everyone else.
- The Irish don't know what they want, but are nonetheless willing to fight to the death for it.
- The English are a self-made people, thereby relieving the Lord of a dreadful responsibility.
